What is this about good fats and bad fats?? What is the difference?

Good Fats...Almonds, olive Oil, ocean fresh salmon, flaxseed...etc.

Bad Fats....cream, butter, ice cream, fried foods, saturated fats, trans fats...

What the hell does one do.(good fats) that the other (bad fats) does or does not do..or.. whatever???
and, keep it simple..please..

ok..here it is simple..good fats, (mono-unsaturated fats) (omega 3) ..actually clean out arteries..some arteries are more important than others....Especially important are the arteries around the heart...Those arteries, around the heart, you do not want to get clogged, ..why?...totally clogged arteries often are the direct cause of ..heart attacks In fact, that is often a heart attack...Yes, keeping the arteries around the heart clean and free of clogs, and the blood flowing normally and fast, prevents heart attacks

Well........what about the bad fats....the bad fats actually cause the clogged arteries. They are so fat laden that some arteries develop "fat bumps" and if a person continues to eat a lot of bad fats..those fat bumps can actually close an artery, (that is completely clogged up) and when that happens, to an important artery that feeds the heart blood, that is a heart attack..Completely clogged arteries around the heart can cause death because the heart needs lots of blood to pump the blood around..(that is what it does)

Large populations of people who are on what is called, "Mediterranean Diet" (around the Mediterranian Sea)..Italy, Greece, etc.. have far fewer heart attacks than those populations who consume bad fats...(like in the U.S) ...also, it has been proven that people who do a lot of walking, also have fewer heart attacks because extensive walking, at a normal pace..also cleans out those arteries..that is another story, for another time...

Bad fats come from the West and the East.

On the plus side, Wicked Fats of the West are water-soluble, while Wicked Fats of the East can be easy squished.

yes,,,It was that crap that the sugar industry paid for that confuses people..but more important in my opinion, it can't help to clarify these simple ideas that have been proven in fact, so everyone can understand them clearly..

My recollection is that coconut oil has been lumped with bad saturated fats when it is now considered good for you.

I think the latest word is that fats derived from animals pose the real problems, not all saturated fats.

He goes to sleep and when he wakes up, people are eating steaks/fatty foods and smoking. Come to find out, it was the OTHER stuff that was killing people.

The key to any good diet is moderation. Don't have to graze like a cow, or load up on proteins. Just eat moderately - and get at least some exercise, like walking.
