Suspended sentence for Ottumwa, IA teen accused of assaulting toddler

http://ktvo.com/news/local/suspended-sentence-for-ottumwa-teen-accused-of-assaulting-toddler

An Ottumwa teen accused of sexually assaulting a toddler won't do any jail time.

In July, Kraigen Grooms, 19, pleaded guilty to one county of Engaging in a Lascivious Act with a Child.

Wapello County Attorney Gary Oldenburger told KTVO that Grooms, aka Kraigen Simmers, was sentenced on that charge on Monday.

Grooms received a 10-year suspended sentence and five years of supervised release.

Let me guess: the judge didn't want to ruin the boy's life?

If they were doubtful of conviction otherwise. If they didn't have good evidence, for instance.

I can't stand to read the article, it may be covered there. If the prosecutor made that deal, the judge is not at fault.

As bad as this sounds, in some cases it is better to get the record and the monitoring rather than taking the chance of letting the perp walk.

Fucking- believable. This creep, this piece of excrement. He should've been given at least 25-30 years, no parole. Remove this judge! What, are they secretly related? 😡

He'd be sent away for a couple years at least.
