From my friends Facebook page. I could not say it better.
"I couldn't be more disturbed than I am about the troubles in North Dakota this morning. I checked the website of every major news outlet last night, after seeing the facebook post about the riot police w/automatic weapons arresting protesters (and reporters from a small web/news site), and there was not one story about it. NPR had a little blurb that was 3 days old, at the bottom. They've shut off phones, water, and internet service in the entire area, and blocked all the roads in and out. When they shut off the internet in Cairo during the "Arab Spring" conflict in Egypt, everyone was outraged. Where is the outrage now? Why are we allowing this to happen here in the home of the brave, and the land of the free? Don't bother going there, the "authorities" won't let you in. Why do they need riot police? Why is the National Guard protecting a pipeline from peaceful protesters? But please, let me know how you feel about Colin Kapernick and the National Anthem, because that's a real news story."

(3,569 posts)Yesterday, and days previous, my page was flooded. Arrest warrants for Amy Goodman, the ONE journalist covering the proceedings then no internet. This is sickening.
I posted no links because there aren't any.

(8,751 posts)Did you notice the size of this pipeline - 30 inches across. The oil companies keep making pipelines bigger and bigger and any break in the line will be ever more disastrous then previous accidents - they also keep upping the pressure in the lines.

(8,751 posts)It's so disgusting - We know who owns all the media - the f**king big corporations.
So now Americans do not have the right to protest.

(8,751 posts)Chase Iron Eyes is a North Dakota Standing Rock Sioux candidate for US Congress -
Chase Iron Eyes, a candidate for Congress, was also one of the Standing Rock Sioux fighting against the Dakota Access Pipeline. He gives his account of the horrible treatment of protesters at the pipeline and talks about his run for Congress. This and more on Redacted Tonight.
