I Am Not Going To Treat Trump Supporters/Voters Kindly. They Deserve Contempt.

There is no way to be civil to these bastards. I am sick of their snarky bullshit and hate. And I will not offer any of them any now or in the future. We probably need and ugly divorce in this country if it were possible. To support a candidate that habitually uses code calling for violence against another candidate is way over the line.

The are NOT nice people. They are all just frigging nuts.

What I find is that the GOP, Trump et al find new ways to be more offensive every day. I want to believe that people in the end are redeemable. Some are and some are not. In reality I probably would not be nasty. My exercise if more intellectual and a way to blow off steam.

I do not see us moving forward with this crowd. The potential for complete disaster with them is just so high. There is something terribly wrong with Trump. And there is something just too twisted with his supporters to ignore or tolerate.

And I know that treating them badly will do no good at all. So we are in a dilemma.

It must be a major adrenaline rush.

I got screwed up as a kid by being taught to love everybody, and to treat them with at least a base level of kindness and engagement, in the hopes that maybe they can evolve into better people.

I know, that's pretty naive of me.

It is really hard to relay to people what justifies my really being PO'ed. Too many on DU are too willing to forgive and forget. I spent 24 years watching the economic carnage caused by the GOP first hand. Working with the classes of unemployed, under employed and economically disenfranchised at DOL was so revealing.

The GOP and people like Trump caused so much pain that it is unbelievable. I do not believe how far these pricks have advanced their agenda since Reagan. They have undermined so much that most American do not really understand how far they have actually gone.

People like Trump, the GOP and their allies are really just starting. They will dismantle everything this country moved forward on since Teddy Roosevelt who understood what it took to create a viable just society. There are so many destructive super trends they have started and moved forward one. And the damage is so subtle in some ways.

When you witness the savagery toward some of the populations that I worked with then you might just understand why I why I feel the way I do. All I know is what the GOP has in mind and they will support Trump if he wins, the worst is only yet to come.

I suppose you could feel sorry for George Bush. He has become a pathetic figure ignored and ridiculed by even his own party. His presidency did a lot of damage. Yet a Trump presidency could do fatal damage to our democracy and ruin our image entirely across the world. It already is on shaky ground in some ways.

It is the vicious racism and bigotry of Trumps followers who are the most detestable. They are blaming their ill on the wrong people for all the wrong reasons. And they are incredibly determined to stay ignorant and stupid. This fact i do not understand.

Despite ALL the evidence that Trump is a sick and twisted human being with virtually no semblance of humanity, they insist on supporting him and inflicting him on the rest of us. It is like someone trying to draw you into quicksand against your will. In their anger they want to destroy everything. And you cannot seem to bring them to their senses.

What is worse is that they present you for it.

I found this on my husband's nephew's fb page. I hid his posts a long time ago--didn't unfriend because he's 'family'-- but
this sort of thing disgusts me.

And I have never been a fan of Hillary. Big Bernie supporter. But I will vote for Hillary because
Trump is not only unqualified to be anywhere near the Oval Office, but he's also a nasty person. Scum. Lacks integrity. Liar. The epitome of the Ugly American.

I have unfriended several people recently on fb (not relatives) who are proud to be included
in the basket of "deplorables". They are women. I do not understand how any woman--with any self-esteem at all--could
vote for Trump.

I think that most of the women who support him must have been in an abusive relationship at one time in their lives.

And the men who support him are just bigoted, misogynistic, racist a$$holes.

So, yes, I get not wanting to have anything to do with people who are supporting Trump.

Shows their lack of judgement. I never felt that way about Romney, McCain or bush supporters. Cheeto is such a red hot mess who is a lying con man.

Now I do have some in law related right wing nephews who were raised on rush by their right wing idiot father. I'm glad my sister in law divorced him. Neither of them are real educated or able to critically think and one joined the military because he had nothing going on in his life. I just don't talk politics with them because they are too far gone. And I laugh when they tell me they know everything. Only idiots say they know everything. I' m 60 and I realize I know jack shit and learning is a life long endeavor.

Also I unfriended them on Facebook.

Anyone supporting Trump at this point is a lost cause. You can't reason with someone who has got their fingers in their ears, their eyes closed, screaming "LA-LA-LA-LA-LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" You can't reason with someone who has barricaded themselves in the basement with the other deplorables, their right wing blowhard radios turned up to eleven, connected via the internet to other deeply entrenched deplorables. Nobody is going to convince them to vote for Clinton, she's the devil to them. But we can encourage everyone else to vote, and hope the ignorant and deplorable people don't vote.

I think there is a large population of people who know Clinton is the best choice, yet for various mundane reasons, they will not get around to voting. We have to make sure these people vote.

Anti-intellectualism has always been a strong component of U.S. politics. Changing the minds of people who are proud of their ignorance is a lost cause. Mostly you've got to wait until life itself has smacked them multiple times with a tire iron, and even then they don't often see how their troubles and the damage they do to others are direct consequences of their own ignorance.
