Rick Scott (FL)finally finds a reason for governmental regulation

Neighbors anxious after Florida sinkhole contaminates water

MULBERRY, Fla. (AP) — Neighbors of a huge sinkhole sending cascades of contaminated water and fertilizer plant waste into Florida's main drinking-water aquifer are fearful and fuming that it took weeks for them to be notified about the disaster.

Many are still waiting anxiously for results from tests for radiation and toxic chemicals in their well water.

Meanwhile, the Mosaic Co. — one of the world's largest producers of phosphate and potash for fertilizer — acknowledged Wednesday that the contamination is spreading in the groundwater.

So far, more than 200 million gallons of tainted water has drained from a waste heap through a 45-foot-wide hole into the Floridan aquifer, which provides water to millions of people in the state.

He'll blame Obama for not educating people on sinkholes - shit, under his administration the entire state has become one big sinkhole.

Mind if I use it sometime?

I like his response. To paraphrase, when you become aware that you're contaminating community water with toxic nuclear waste, the right thing to do is to provide immediate warning. But, because there is no law requiring you to tell your neighbors, I am now requesting that a new law be formed to require that such information be divulged within 24 hours.

I can assure you that a creative lawyer would be able to put together the legal reasoning that would make the adition of this law unnecessary. Something that stipulates protecting the public safety and welfare.
