I'm sure HRC internal pollsters have done the math and know that her lead would be impacted by almost any other candidate but Trump. Although it seems unlikely he could be replaced this late, why chance it with a kill now? I suspect she did not go ballistic on him last night and that he is getting muted praise from some in the media mainly to keep him on life support. A wounded Trump is better than almost any other option and his red meat orgy last night for his base by his alt right handlers will keep him alive to lose in November. I am sure any other video or victims of Trump's advances will be unveiled closer to the election when any chance of a redo will be impossible.

(25,249 posts)they are being pulled back into having to support this degenerate and they are enabling him at the peril of their Party.
They've had ample opportunities to jettison him as a primary candidate and nominee. They missed a great opportunity to turn it around at their national convention.
Many, many Repugs have never supported him. Many others that have endorsed him have now reversed their endorsement.
Their Party is in shambles because of Trump and I'm sure (being as creative as this Repug Party is) could come up with a way of making him step down or replacing him with someone else at this time.
However - they fell again for his BS, lying and attacking ways and it appears that they are going to stay with him till the very end.
They are doing this at their peril - their demise.
I can't wait to hear their post-mortem after Trump and the Repug Party loses big in November.
It's going to be interesting as to how they are going to say that they will present themselves going forward.

(40,416 posts)Drumpf is like an albatross around the GOP's neck.
They'll never be rid of him.
And BTW, there are no redos in US presidential elections, silly.
