charity, and virtually none of it was used as a deduction.... that would excuse it.

However, Mr. Buffett paid taxes and gave away BILLIONS.

Also, Warren Buffett just obliterated the "can't release under audit" lame smokescreen that Donald was trying to proffer.

Warren Buffet stated years ago he will give away everything he owns before he dies. He has helped more people than most charities try to help. A man that still lives in his 50 year old ranch house makes me wish he ran for president.

I mean, seriously, the man gave billions to charity. Who DOES THAT?

Well, apparently a decent, honest man who isn't consumed with how much more money he can cram in his own pockets and more about the world around him.

Ed Asner plays Buffet in HBO's film Too Big to Fail, which I recommend. Lehman Bros. CEO, the appropriately named Dick Fuld, is played by James Woods (a fucking jerk playing a fucking jerk).

It is an interesting film relating what happened at Treasury and Wall Street in the autumn of 2008 when the entire world economy was melting down before our very eyes.

In addition to Asner and Woods:
William Hurt plays Treasury Secy Paulsen
Paul Giamatti plays Ben Bernanke
Toni Schalhoub plays Morgan Stanley CEO John Mack.
Billy Crudup plays Tim Geitner

Lots of other recognized stars here.

It is a frustrating film because the outcome is what actually happened, not optimal.

HBO films are pretty damned good, this one included.

Great acting, great dialogue. I loved watching Asner as Buffet with his grandkids.

Buffet is a thoughtful, responsible citizen that understands that he uses "the commons", depends on them, and should participate in paying for them.

Too Big to Fail is an exemplar of their quality. Game Change, about the 2008 GOP VEEP run of Sparkle Moose, is another.

Their casts are universally excellent.

Try Temple Grandin some day, with the incredible Claire Danes in the lead role.

Temple Grandin's story is special to us.

Palin's run was wild. I guess Nicolle Wallace really skipped voting in 2008 because SP was so unqualified.

He tried to put himself on the same footing as Obama. Fail.
As HRC. Fail.
As war veterans. Fail.
As Warren Buffett. Fail.

Sounds to me like we've reached the 3rd level of grief: Bargaining.

Next, he'll want to match up to other elected officials....Fail
or Good businessmen. Fail.
or Trustworthy people. Fail.
or honest people. Triple fail.
