Team Romneymobile is following Mitt Romney's "Every Millionaire Counts" bus tour, and is being met at each stop by MoveOn.org members who would be affected by Romney's economic policies that would rig the system further in favor of the 1%. And don't forget to look up, for airline banners that expose Romney as a candidate for President of the 1%, not President of the United States.
Heh! Will follow that journey.

True humor always has a bit of truth in it. Really good humor has a lot of truth in it.

(14,549 posts)I'm sorry but I don't think this works. Fake millionaires distracting from the real ones. They'll get busted and harrassed for following him and for what? Romney says he is conservative and a business man so liberals follow him around screaming "he's a conservative! and look at his business friends!" That helps Mitt Romney.
What his base really hates is: Romney-Care and his job destroying corporate raider past (and his religion but don't go there).

(17,111 posts)Mocking humor is one of the most effective ways to discredit a candidate or his positions. When someone can be mocked, it reduces his ability to be taken seriously. People remember the absurdities pointed out.
They don't care about Romney's base, whatever that group is. They want independent voters to always remember who Romney really supports. The fact he is rich and supports helping those in his class has to be front and center. This takes some of the spotlight off of Obamacare.
This is an effective way to point out his positions.

(14,549 posts)doesn't seem all that different to me than Romney in a bus funded by super PACs.
What MoveOn seeks to do here is very different than what Michael Moore, Colbert and other masters of the craft do. There are a dozen reasons not to vote for Romney which play better than "Romney's rich" (and so are we). Beyond staying rich and fulfilling his father's dream of getting to the Whitehouse I am not sure that Mitt Romney has any consistent positions.
I think the biggest difference for independents is that Obama is a known quantity and Romney is a shape shifter who is now running away from his father's DC credentials in the Nixon admin, his money grubbing deals at Bain and Romneycare. If we aren't going to peel away his base then we are just playing to the choir.

(17,111 posts)is made up of Mormons, RINOs, and he hopes the right wing. You could peel forever and never snag anybody in his base. That's wasted effort.
President Obama wants the independents and the people who were in the GOP but are now considered too radical. They aren't in Romney's base by any means. They are a fluid group whose opinion changes.
'And 2 people funded by a PAC in a luxury vehicle' is the wrong way to look at this. Some will only see that, but with the proper mockery that goes with it, that sight becomes a reminder of what Romney really stands for.

(14,549 posts)"2 people funded by a PAC in a luxury vehicle" is what they are. A guy followed Lieberman in his own truck with a sculpture of Bush and Lieberman kissing and to me that was a much more effective angle.
Did some research on Romney's base. 7% totally disgusting:
More likely . 7%
Less likely . 35%
Doesnt make a difference 55%
Not sure . 2%

Romney favored by rich white men and evangelicals. We are winning but could do better with retirees, women and work at home moms:
