2. But I don't really see the context. Euro bashing is one thing, but he was sounding

like a U.S. bailout of some European countries was under consideration.

That just came right out of left field to me. Sounded like Mitt just made that up out of whole cloth...

Romney wants to make it seem like Obama wants to give those damn "Euro Socialists" our money.

Of course Obama proposed no such thing, but that won't stop them from pretending he did and Mitt is here to put a stop to it.

3. I think he's referring to the EMF fund.

The US is, again, not contributing to that fund which I believe can be used to help bail out EURO countries.
Canada, my country, is not contributing this year either. I believe we contributed 200B last year.
Unfortunately, Stephen Harper is a douche bag and Mitt Romney is an even bigger douche bag.
They want to see the EU fail so they can point and say how socialism doesn't work or something like that.

Harper and the torries are toast in our next election, I hope you guys can get rid of yours in Nov.

Good luck to you!

4. Again, there was no context like you have provided in what Mitt actually said.

It sounded so artificial and dumbed down. But perhaps I only saw an isolated comment...

not to mention the religious crazyness we have here. Hope you're right about getting rid of Harper. Save some room up in the Yukon for liberals seeking asylum!

6. See, the GOP from time to time (/sarcasm) does this thing . . .

. . . where they tend to invent imaginary ideas Democrats and progressives supposedly suggest (but never do) and then proceed to conjure up some crises out of those imagined ideas.

Example: "GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER OF HEALTH CARE!!!!"

A very short, anger-inducing falsehood later, the GOP has their mice STIRRED! Of course, it's a falsehood which the Democrats could easily counter with "Universal Health Care is Government FUNDED, not Government RUN". Yet they won't . . . primarily because the Third Weigh Anchors don't support Universal Health Care.

9. Its a Federal Reserve Conspiracy Theory

Mitt is appealing to the wingnut anti-Fed "sound dollar" base.

Last December the Fed did provide a large swap line to the ECB. We make 1% on those swaps. People here even criticized it because they think it helped the Euro banks at our expense (it does help them but we profit).

11. OK, I get that. I just wonder why Mitt didn't refer to it as the sources of his "concern."

I guess he thinks we are all too dumbass to understand an "explanation," even one grounded in conspiracy theories...
