I've been watching less and less. After Monday and their coverage of the debate and the Trump tape I decided to leave them for good. They don't deserve any ratings from me. Really I watched the show bc I liked their guest hosts, but they've gone too far. And honestly I feel great. I am much happier watching CNN in the morning. I recommend the rest of DU ignore Morning Joe. It should be changed to Morning Joy. I would love to wake up to Joy Reid every morning!

(46,179 posts)watched nor listened to "Morning Joe." I know it/he exists because DUers are always mentioning it/him.
I don't watch ANY talk tv nor do I listen to talk radio. It has always seemed to me to be propaganda shaping the national conversation in ways I don't appreciate, no matter what "side" it's stirring up, and I've never needed anyone to do my thinking for me.
Really, if there were some original thinking going on, I'd check in, but the things that get repeated from these shows ad nauseum, again, from all sides, are anything but. So I don't. And I've been perfectly content not doing so.
I don't even watch nor listen for the "news." I read. I read faster than they talk, and I can scan something looking for information and skipping over the bias.

(94,786 posts)Personally, listening to someone who disagrees with me doesn't bother me a lot; the cross conversation is usually pretty balanced, and the political coverage is good. Watch what you want. Or don't.

(1,735 posts)Joe and Mika were a refreshing change from the deplorable Imus, who they replaced. But in the last two or three years they are unwatchable. Used to keep MSNBC on throughout the day, but now only listen to Rachel's podcast while walking the dog. This channel has fallen on very hard times since new management took over and turned it into a Faux wannabe.

(21,756 posts)Drove me over to CNN and I found it to be 10 times better.
I will only watch MSNBC at night for Hayes (sometimes) and then Rachel and Lawrence O'Donnel

(7,113 posts)It's mostly straight-up unbiased reporting (with a few glaring right-leaning examples), but it certainly beats anything on TV for the depth and substance brought to coverage of the issues.
Plus, being radio, you can listen to it while showering or doing other a.m. routines.

(2,535 posts)I think for quite a while they were thinking they could retain the liberals and try to gain some conservatives from FOX.
What happened is they lost liberals and didn't steal anyone from FOX.
FOX was built on sex and images. They had Hannity v. Colmes which had the conservative being a handsome maqn that carried himself well and the liberal as a wimp.
It surprises people when they confront me , being a liberal, and they think they can walk all over me. I prove them wrong.

(23,780 posts)It just wasn't his position on issues or events, but his shouting over everyone and his condescending attitude. Then there was Mika's fawning all over him. My gag reflex just isn't strong enough. Haven't watched in years.

(785 posts)The last thing I want is a hermetically sealed echo chamber. I frequent this site, and those from a slew of other views. Same for my news, I get it from just about as many places as I can find.
I dare say, I spend even more time looking at sites and news I don't agree with. I already know what I think, why would I just keep wanting to hear someone parrot back what I agree with? Very boring.

(874 posts)Trashbags pundits though because some of the spin is really really out there. They are good at it but they are not fooling anybody..anybody with a molecule left in their brain that is.
Waste of time.
