Against the GOP is their only electoral out and that just diminishes the disaster

Long term they are in a bad bad way, the party will have to split off the trump faction

the GOP will issue a boilerplate statement suggesting that the party will undertake extensive outreach efforts again to win back support, blah blah blah.

But the sharp and bitter divisions that produced Trump are baked in to their base and their state-by-state apparatus.

But the Republicans were rebirthed as tea partiers (At first they called themselves tea baggers).

The republican base has short term memory.

That said, this latest thing is about sex. So maybe it will stick.
