You can ask the same question of the segway. Baitball Blogger Jun 2012 #2

Nah. The seat's not large enough. Limbaugh would need six of them to go anywhere. HopeHoops Jun 2012 #5
because if you were old and\or disabled it'd be pretty handy to have? dionysus Jun 2012 #6
Though I believe some will be able to use it who can't walk, Baitball Blogger Jun 2012 #9
I would make a couple of changes on it. I would use it in the home and put some type of hand southernyankeebelle Jun 2012 #15
Agree with your assessment. Baitball Blogger Jun 2012 #16
Iwondered if they bother to check with senior citizens? Would've saved them alot of time. southernyankeebelle Jun 2012 #23
My first impression was that it was meant as a form of transportation in Japan. Baitball Blogger Jun 2012 #24
Oh, well if they make it in the good ole USA its got to be alittle bigger in the butt for sure. southernyankeebelle Jun 2012 #25
Sssshhh! Baitball Blogger Jun 2012 #26
LOL. My butt is bigger than your butt I bet. Are you kidding? The truth is the truth no southernyankeebelle Jun 2012 #28
This device isn't about why or why not people are obese, but it is perfect for those unable to walk DainBramaged Jun 2012 #7
It's being introduced as competition for the segway. Not a replacement for a wheelchair. Baitball Blogger Jun 2012 #8
You just don't see it do you? DainBramaged Jun 2012 #10
Ah. I see. Baitball Blogger Jun 2012 #12

Yes. Those were my initial concerns too. Baitball Blogger Jun 2012 #18
I'd like to see a regular size person on it, not a 5' 90lb girl Viva_La_Revolution Jun 2012 #22
Its like a Segway, but dorkier. Erose999 Jun 2012 #27

my beloved ex, my handicapped sister with bad knees who needs a walker, MILLIONS of people with mobility issues can use this. The problem is, moving slower than a fast walk on uneven sidewalks or pavement is going to be interesting to say the least.

it doesn't look sturdy enough for that purpose. i.e. people with hip problems might have trouble leaning to one side or the other to get it to turn.

control rest place. It doesn't look comfortable. It's ok if your skinny but not heavy. I wouldn't use this outside. Sidewalks aren't good places to use this item. But I know around the house and your own yard where you are pretty knowledgeable about might be good. I have a sister that has really bad knees. This would be nice at home.

matter who disagrees. I wouldn't sit on that unless it was just alittle wider and has handles.

Changed the title just for you.

I've been reading several articles on the subject because I'm just a step or two away from health issues related to weight and diet. The term "obesity" was used in the articles, so I assume it was a valid term. Did not mean to offend.

No use for paraplegics, of course-- but it could be fantastic for a lot of other people with trouble getting around. I like how upright the rider is. Easy to reach things.

Maybe they want a small unit for getting around the office, and use something beefier for the trip home.

or at least not completely un-fit. You would at least need decent balance, which is a big problem for many old people, and quite a bit of strength in core and back to use it for more than a few minutes.
