http://www.oregonlive.com/today/index.ssf/2016/10/how_ugly_will_the_campaign_get.htmlIn the wake of the video leak showing him talking about sexually touching women without their consent, Republican nominee Donald Trump has decided his best chance at winning the presidency is to go all-in on attacking Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, regardless of evidence or common decency. A case in point: On Sunday he falsely accused Clinton of "laughing at" a 12-year-old rape victim. And he has indicated that many more such attacks are coming.
"If they want to release more tapes [in which I'm] saying inappropriate things, we'll continue to talk about Bill and Hillary Clinton doing inappropriate things," he said Monday at a rally.
He might want to think twice about that. Trump is vulnerable on many fronts here. The Atlantic magazine made this clear last week with a lengthy Trump scandal "cheat sheet." It includes, among other unflattering events in the candidate's life, his four bankruptcies, his history of housing discrimination against minorities, his alleged mafia ties and the ongoing Trump University fraud cases.
There's also one The Atlantic didn't include: an allegation of child rape. Trump's lawyers say the accusation that the real-estate magnate raped a 13-year-old aspiring model in 1994 is "categorically untrue, completely fabricated and politically motivated."
That may indeed be the case, but some Democrats are now fighting fire with fire by trying to push it front and center, just as Trump is doing with unproven sexual-assault allegations made against former President Bill Clinton, the Democratic nominee's husband. "Republicans failed our country when they failed to vet or question Donald Trump's sordid past, and now it's up to the court system to protect our country's women from his predatory behavior," writes the advocacy group Occupy Democrats in an online press statement that includes links to court documents.

(35,699 posts)1. Actually I don't think Democrats should touch this one.
If there is anything to it, it will come out eventually. And if there are flaws in this allegation it will only help Trump make the claim that all of the allegations are trumped up, so to speak.

Democrats don't need to go that low. And it's too risky.

And that's exactly how it should be.

pandora's box.

This one, he is managing to read himself down with his lie after lie. Just like the bully on the play ground, Trump has not matured last those days. We need a mature qualified candidate to be president, we have Hillary, she will be a great president. GOTV!!!
