Maybe we live in a different reality from the rich

While channel surfing, I stumbled on a "reality" show about rich people cruising around on a rent-a-yacht (BELOW DECKS) complete with the whole bit - private chef, wine, catering to all their wishes in general. Anyway, at a 9 P.M. 12 course dinner a sleaze-ball frump of a guy makes the comment as the table was being served by a pretty hostess, that he could arrange for her and the rest of female staff to "serve" him in other ways - the intent was obvious. Now he said this in the company of other couples with even his daughters at the table. God damn if it didn't remind me of a Medieval king looking at his servants as animal stock. No shock, no outrage but you could tell the hostess was fighting to keep it under control.

Disgusting , insulting treatment of people - the way of the rich?

in a diner and make lewd comments to and about the waitresses.

This is not a class thing. It's a class-LESS thing.

Most of the ultrarich have never been concerned about jack shit. They got their money the old fashioned way - the inherited it. That crowd shuns people like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet because they aren't one of "them".

so the lack of reaction doesn't surprise me. At the dinner table, there would be people stepping on his foot as a signal to put a sock in it. A raised eyebrow would signal to the staff to start watering his drinks heavily. He would never be invited again, no matter how much his business was worth, he could go to the office.

Yes, I've seen this sort of thing in action.
