2 Quotes from Sandusky in Costas interview that NBC didn't air: (Lawd!)

RT @NBC didnt think it should air this Sandusky comment:
" I didn't go around seeking out every young person for sexual needs that I've helped"

RT @SPORTSbyBROOKS NBC also decided to edit out this from Sandusky:
" There are many I didn't have -- I hardly had any contact w/ who I've helped in many ways"

THE FULL TRANSCRIPT: Bob Costas interview with Joe Amendola and Jerry Sandusky
http://www.centredaily.com/2011/11/16/2988948/interview-with-joe-amendola-and.html

I read that the defense may close with this.
These are the last nails IMHO.

Where are the other victims. He just didn't start this in 1998. Wouldn't surprise me if Sandusky was the neighborhood bully. There must be more out there.

makes me sick to my stomach. I am pretty sure if I was a jury member, I would be looking at Sandusky like I would look at a monster.

It seems clear this is so, but the testimony and his denials in the face of so much evidence...he really never cared a whit about the kids. My father would have killed this man with his bare hands if he had done what he's accused of with any of my brothers. I have been so appalled I could barely stand to listen. It just seemed so horrible -- a classic case of grooming: slowly gaining a kid's confidence, enticing them with gifts and attention, then stepping over boundaries one tiny step at a time until it is too late for the kid. He relied on their belief that they were somehow complicit in his crime and would keep silent for fear of exposure and embarrassment.

I worked for an agency years ago that advocated for rape victims. Sandusky fits the pattern of serial molester and rapist.

What really sucks is the huge shit fit that Penn State went through when their hero Joe Paterno was fired - had they really seen and empathized with the victims, this whole thing might have gone differently. But what do we care? The school's football reputation is at stake! Seriously the Penn State board of trustees is to blame as much for this as anybody. Had they shit canned Sandusky and investigated Second Mile years ago they would have found more - of course Joe Paterno might have gone down with Sandusky too. You never know.

5. I'm surprised at how many have come forward

Two huge factors in this case are Sandusky's deliberate choosing of victims and his (former) high-profile/reputation in the community. He had "access" to hundreds, maybe even thousands of kids through his foundation and position at the university--as a predator, he had plenty of opportunity to choose his victims and eliminate those who might not be "safe". Having a high profile would make it even less likely for kids to report him. Then, years later, it would be difficult for these kids to come forward because of lingering victim guilt and more crushingly, guilt that they hadn't been brave enough to come forward until he'd already been stopped.
There isn't enough money to bring some victims forth, there probably isn't enough in the world to make them face up to their own (misplaced and tragic) guilt and shame. That is exactly why this type of crime is so terrible.

had to find several of them and convince them to testify. They used Sandusky's autobiography, Touched, in order to get clues to their identities.

They never did find the boy McQueary saw in the shower with Sandusky.

This is why I believe it will be hard to make an in-it-for-the-money charge stick. They did not seek out this confrontation. In addition, after hearing some of those witnesses, I don't think all the money in the world can make it better. That takes time, love, and support IMHO.

Seriously, his book is titled, "Touched"?

Was "Fondled" already taken?

Skimming Costa's interview is disturbing. The people that knew and covered it up, aren't they accessories? Was the football program more important the young kids lives?

it does make me sick when frauds show up and try and get a big payday--it just adds one more layer to the protection/defense of predators like Sandusky. On the other hand, legitimate victims deserve every penny they can get, and of course time, love, and support.
