I hope Trump really did cook his own goose. In fact I hope burned it to a crisp along with a lot of Republicans.
The refusal to commit to accept election results looks like it was the fatal self inflicted wound. Of course the rest of his performance made matters worse.

(5,943 posts)They should publicly ask their Republican opponent: "Are you going to accept the results of the presidential election?"
Their opponents will be damned if they do, damned if they don't. If they say that of course they'll accept the results, they'll anger the passionate Trump supporters whose votes they need. If they say they won't necessarily accept the election results, they'll risk losing the votes of (relatively) sane Republicans.

(24,461 posts)Even their younger candidates suffer the same problem as the older ones do -
Since SarUH Palin came on the scene, the Grand Oil Politburo has made a sharp right turn into a corner, and are trying unsuccessfully to rev themselves out of it. Even their younger candidates . . . the fact is, they just plain and simple GO TOO FAR.
No one wants to live in a world that's economically rigged against the middle/working/poor or where overall human rights get taken away, not improved or added. No one wants to live in a nation under the constant fear of someone or something.
They refuse to get this because they simply aren't wired TO get it.
