PNAC in disguise - REMARKS BY SENATOR JOHN McCAIN ON SYRIA AT THE AMERICAN ENTERPRISE INSTITUTE

http://www.mccain.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=PressOffice.PressReleases&ContentRecord_id=0092c63e-b073-f367-e907-254eacf0d5ef

Excerpt:

"He could not be more correct. Syria today is indistinguishable from Bosnia in the 1990s, with one exception: In Bosnia, President Clinton finally summoned the courage to lead the world to intervene and stop the killing. It is worth recalling his words upon ordering military action in Bosnia in 1995: ‘There are times and places,’ President Clinton said, ‘where our leadership can mean the difference between peace and war, and where we can defend our fundamental values as a people and serve our most basic, strategic interests. [T]here are still times when America and America alone can and should make the difference for peace.’"

There are more exceptions:

Russia was not involved.
There were not the number of chemical factories in Bosnia as there are in Syria.
Iran was not involved.
Iran did not threaten Israel if the US got involved in Bosnia as it did for Syria.
There was no possibility of it spreading to neighboring countries.
The US was in a much better financial position thanks to Bill Clinton.
The Republicans OPPOSED the effort in Bosnia.
The Middle East is no longer receptive to US interference, thanks to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan - which McCain supported and ridiculed Obama's efforts to end. McCain wanted to be there forever.
McCain's ploy is a PNAC hidden. He is playing politics before an election.

ROFL - they are praising Clinton.
