Don't know how many of his followers will stick around to support him after that.
There's always a few crazies, but the majority of the types he attracts have enough native cunning along with their nastiness to drop a loser once it becomes apparent he's got no real political power - or anything else they can profit from - behind his bluster. They'll still spout their hate speech, but they'll wait until someone who can hold his own against the majority of the rest of the country.
I used "his" because they're only going follow a WASPy-white "Manly Man" with enough personal real money (not borrowed money) and real political mover-and-shaker backing. Which pretty much narrows the list of guys that would really be able to lead their movement to movie and comic-book characters.
