Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsSo I posted the .gif going around FB about Medicare Overhead vs HMO Overhead, and one of my friends
told me:
I just answered a research question on this the administration cost to medicaid is .33 to the dollar as private insurance average is .18 to the dollar
I said, "Really? This can't include CEO bonuses...there's no way" and she says that she "works for the industry" and "can pull up both sides to any argument" So I told her that was awesome...Maybe she could post her data, or send a link as opposed to expecting me to take her word for it.
I'm still waiting...

My father worked for the insurance business. He says single payer is the only thing that will truly save money. And he's a conservative.

(25,699 posts)such as denying every claim that they can, expelling people from insurance plans, and of course, refusing to cover. it's an industry that makes its money by NOT providing a product or service. That they have costs at all with this sort of business model reveals just how perversely inefficient they are.
