According to Gallup, 57 percent of Americans believe the current president is doing a good job his best marks since just after his 2012 re-election.
The tweet below by Republican pollster Frank Luntz shows how Obama stacks up with the approval rating of recent presidents at the same point in their second terms. While the current president ties Bill Clinton, he easily beats Republican hero Ronald Reagan.

Obama once gave a controversial interview where he said he wanted to be as influential as Reagan by the end of his presidency. Mission accomplished.

(4,667 posts)Even Clinton's mark should come with an asterisk because the Monica scandal was a very big deal that dis hurt his ranking despite the approval rating.
The bottoms line is that Obama is the most powerful 2-term President since probably FDR.
