(21,925 posts)Romney apparently doesn't know the difference between a touch screen and a touch tone phone. He probably hasn't had to dial his own phone since the rotary dial went out in the 1960s and has his secretary do it.

(26,449 posts)"HMMMMMMMM where is the Grey Poupon?" or maybe he said "Whee" or "Boop Beep Borp" each time he touched the screen.
I don't think he's ever used the word hoagie before then also. Two firsts in one day!

(50,557 posts)He will lose his fucking mind in a Sheetz. "They had a whole restaurant in this gas station! And you go up and order food, and they cook it right there! And it's really good food!"
'Course, if we wanted to see Romney's head explode we could have him do a whistlestop at the Oak Grove 70 Petro truck stop in Oak Grove, Missouri.

(5,818 posts)Somebody should find archived news station clips of all those '92 barcode ads and put them online in one convenient place. The copy for anti-Romney "out of touch" plutocrat ads has already been written--20 years ago.

All that place did is fire order takers and turn the touch screens over to the customers, instead.

(11,175 posts)There haven't been any stores by that name anywhere that I've ever lived.
Romney has probably eaten at Friendly's any number of times, but I don't think that chain has ever had stores west of Ohio, so quite a few very intelligent people would be unfamiliar with the name. They probably don't even know what a Fribble is.

(128,979 posts)like 711. I expect there are some in the surrounding states too (NJ & DE). They sell deli sandwiches and hot foods (including hot dogs, grilled sandwiches, etc) and coffee, as well as some quick pick-up grocery items (e.g., milk, bread, soup, eggs, cereals, snacks, bakery items, etc). They also sell gift cards, paper products, local newspapers and magazines, etc.,and of course cigarettes.
Edit to add examples of the touch screen order displays:
Ironically, I was just in the one near me today and noticed that they had actually updated the touchscreen program to a new version with a new look. Not sure when they had switched to the new program but it could have been one of those "June 1st" type roll-outs.
Also as a sidenote, after you are done with the touchscreen order, it prints out a little receipt that you take to the cashier and then they stamp it as "paid" and you take it back to the deli counter to hand in when your order is ready.

(128,979 posts)at my Wawa as I noticed today. Didn't really pay attention to see if they still called something like onions "condiments" - although theoretically, they will put all those items on that screen in little single-serving cups on the side if requested...
