In my opinion, it's not going to make a large impact on this election, in either case.
It appears that pressure from some right-wingers in Congress persuaded him to drop this story at this time. Comey himself, stated that there may be nothing "significant" in the emails.
If there is nothing significant, Comey has committed a great disservice to our electoral process.
He needs to explain himself and he needs to do it quickly.
Instead of investigating the possible Russian hacking, he is investigating Anthony Weiner's sex tweets.
The country should demand more from its FBI Director.

Who is in control of the Wiener investigation? Apparently no one, if information is careening around the room like a drunk sailor. Investigate the case, act in correspondence with the findings, and make certain loose accusations are not leaked out to the whore media.
That means most of the mainstream media, but especially you, Joe Scarborough.
Comey needs to hold a lengthy press conference, and if this is as big a fuckup by his department as it looks right now, he should draft a hefty apology to read at the outset.

I'm sorry but DU seems to forget that most people don't have instant access to accurate info and analysis that we have here. AND most people are only going to hear/see the headline. This could be a bombshell. We weathered "the stumble" very well but this is close to the possible negative impact.
