My bizarre Halloween Party dressed as a "Deplorable."

Be forewarned, some of you might find some elements of this post offensive. But bear with me; it was a pretty fascinating accidental social experiment that I'm still trying to figure out.

Saturday we attended an annual Halloween party which has been known to bring out some pretty weird and risque costumes. We knew it was adults-only (not as in XXX, just that there would be no children allowed). I didn't really know what reaction to expect from the last-minute "costumes" I made up for me and my wife, but I was still rather surprised, and even a little bit more confused about what it means to be a Trump supporter.

I made a t-shirt that said "Kiss Me, I'm Deplorable," along with a knock-off of Trump's trucker cap that said "Make America Hard Again." This was to complement the perfect Trump campaign sign, but instead of Trump - Pence mine said "GROPE - PUSSY; Make America Hard Again." I wore a campaign-style button which merely showed Trump crying like a little baby.

My wife's costume was a shirt which said "Nasty Woman," and featured an arrow pointing to her crotch and the words "Private Server," and a campaign button featuring a cartoon of Hillary flashing her breasts. I know, I know, these were not pc costumes, but we knew the crowd (or so we thought) and thought the dual costumes would be so confusing (who the hell were we supporting?) as to just be funny. And they were, but not the way I expected.

As expected, no one really knew what side we were supposed to be taking, which was good. But the reactions totally floored me. A few people gasped at the "Grope-Pussy" campaign sign, but most got a big laugh out of it. The real surprise came from the Trump supporters, especially the women. I had one guy get really animated and looking for high-fives, yelling "We finally got 'er now! Hillary's goin' down! She's goin' down! It's all over man!" obviously believing my shirt was a pro-Trump take-off on the "Proud Deplorables" meme.

It was the reaction of the pro-Trump women which really caught me off guard. I got a lot of kisses -- and was offered lots and lots of bare breasts, butts, and crotches to grope! I mean, these Trump woman were all "Go Donald!" as they lifted their shirts or dropped trou offering a grope! I was totally stunned, didn't expect that reaction at all. A few laughs, maybe a kiss, for sure (I also carried five or six boxes of Tic Tacs which I distributed liberally, and consumed but the handful). I don't know what to think...what were these Trump women supporting? Was it just the Halloween party revelry (and booze, of course), or was there actually some message there? The woman clearly didn't have a problem with the groping, and none of the men-folk seemed to mind at all as their wives and girlfriends offered me their breasts (and more).

This was the strangest Halloween party ever. The biggest surprise was that out of about 150-200 people, only one other couple did Trump/Hillary themes. I expected many more, given the closeness of the contentious election. But I sure as hell wasn't ready for the reaction of the female Trump supporters!

I posted awhile back after a visit back to my midwestern rural hometown over this past Labor Day. There were two incidents that made me and was reminded that that behavior is the norm.

One incident was a man (husband of a friend) motioning to me with his index finger to come over to him. I thought he wanted to tell me something or talk. So I went to walk over but he turned and went back in the house for something. I asked his friend who was sitting there, what he wanted. Friend said, "oh, he said he could make you come with one finger" (sorry if this is too pervy). Not too far away was that man's young boy, probably 9 or 10. I just looked at him in amazement and asked, "really, you talk like that in front of your child?"

Second incident of the weekend. At a get together and one of the women was coming into the house carrying bags of things to donate to the pot luck. Her husband is walking in behind her, grabs her and begins humping her from behind saying, "boy I'm horny!" WTF? She had no reaction at all.

So it exists. The men are conditioned to view women that way and the women seem to have become desensitized to it and just laugh it off. That's why a lot of the vulgar things Donald Trump says and does does not bother 40% of the population. Unfortunately it's the way a lot of them talk and live come to life in a presidential candidate and it's great.

But then if I think back to growing up there, that is the way it was. I do admit remembering how some of the vulgar talk directed at me did sting. Because these guys were my friends.

But being away from it for years and years at a time, you just don't talk like that. I don't, in my life now hear men talk like that to women and women brushing it off like it's nothing.

Yeah, I know, an un PC term. Whatever. If you can come up with another name to describe uneducated, ignorant, lewd, rude and generally distasteful behavior, I'll go with it.

That was most of my cousins and their friends, and I grew up not knowing any different type of behavior and attitudes, but I knew it wasn't right. It made me uncomfortable to be chased around the garden by my own relatives, and to be the subject of lewd discussion.

I got away from all that the minute I turned 18 and ventured out into the world, but I kept coming across the same types of guys until I started working in the music and show business industry. Because I was one of the crew, I was respected. I was only once ever really harassed, and when I finally threw my 18" C wrench down on the deck with a HUGE thud and loudly offered to take the guy outside so I could kick the shit out of him, did it stop. (everyone was watching of course, thankfully he didn't call my 5'5 135 lb bluff)

Another funny one was in downtown LA, a bunch of cholos were sitting on the empty steps of a convention hall and I'm strolling past. They start in with 'hola chica'' and making these 'pssss psssss psssss' sounds, and I start laughing and said 'you guys sound like buncha a leaky tires!' They started laughing too and I just rolled my eyes and kept laughing and walking. That was the only funny such encounter ever. Well, except for the truck that clipped a light pole the (last) time I wore a tank top out in public.

The mentality of men towards women in the USA, for, sadly, a large part of the population, isn't much different than the fukcwads in the middle east. Those are the numbnuts that support trump. We can be thankful that a huge majority of them are too fukcing stupid to figure out how to register to vote. But it's going to be a closer call than you might think.

Several years ago, my wife and I made last minute costumes for a Halloween party. We made her a Taliban hooker. A bed sheet burka with lipstick and a pair of high heels.

your wife's costume highlighted everything Trump supporters love to make fun of. That's why. The misogyny and sexual innuendoes probably helped, too.

ETA: Also, your costumes upheld the false equivalency narrative. The more that's sustained, the better Trump does.

I used Trump's own words. Trump's own supporters came up to me and bared their breasts and dropped their pants while yelling "Go Trump!" And somehow I did something wrong?

Did anyone believe the "little women" back home aren't as vulgar as those men who think Donald's crude remarks are "sayin' it like it is"?

Equality, folks....
