Next time theres a terrorist attack on U.S. soil, just remember what the House GOP FORCED the FBI to waste their limited time and resources on.The Tsarnaev brothers, who carried out the Boston bombing, and Omar Mateen, who carried out the Orlando night club massacre were all on the FBIs radar. But the FBI claimed they slipped through their fingers because they didnt have the time or resources to follow up on every suspect.
Why not? Because the House GOP is forcing the FBI to waste their time going after the Democratic Partys presidential nominee, for purely partisan political purposes.
Lets recap, shall we?
1. They tried to pin a charge of criminal negligence on Clinton over Benghazi. (Kevin McCarthy admits to Fox News that the purpose of the Benghazi committee is to drive Clintons election prospects down.)
2. After thousands of wasted investigative hours, and millions of dollars, they failed to pin a charge of negligence on her. But during the course of that investigation, they found out she used a private server. Surely THATS ILLEGAL!
3. After more wasted time, they find it WASNT illegal for her to use a private server. But surely its illegal to send classified information from a non-government server? Yes it is.
4. After thousands more hours of wasted investigative time, they found out she only sent three (out of 30,000) emails that were IMPROPERLY MARKED as classified. FBI refuses to indict.
5. But maybe she said something slightly different to the FBI during a private interview than she did during her testimony before Congress? YES! If so, maybe they can nail her for PERJURY! Let's get the FBI to compare the transcripts of her interview with the transcripts of her Congressional testimony. (Chafetz grins smugly at Comey and says youll have a referral to investigate this within a matter of hours.)
So, weve gone from negligence over Benghazi to private server to sending classified information to perjury. Does any SANE person really think the FBI has nothing BETTER to do than a PERPETUAL political investigation of Hillary Clinton, for the express purpose of driving her election prospects down?

OP
I'm no expert but doesn't the FBI have different offices and divisions with separate disciplines?

Seriously, saying "Bush kept us safe" is like saying "I'm a virgin, except for that one week-long orgy in college"

It seems cyber security and anti-terrorism may overlap but are such diverse disciplines that an investigation in one shouldn't impede another.
They also have separate divisions for white collar crime, violent crime, organized crime, etc. I doubt the email brouhaha even registers on their radar.
