So I guess that the GOP is planning to do absolutely nothing for 4 to 8 years during a Hillary presidency. I bet they will try to keep her from taking the oath of office. What they want goes far beyond judges. They will investigate and impeach until Hillary resigns.
The GOP is determined to destroy the country at all costs. So who is the enemy. Certainly not the terrorists.
We have a pending crisis in government caused by the GOP.

(52,243 posts)The house won't pass anything, the senate minority will filibuster anything and everything they can, and they'll investigate her every sneeze, and they'll impeach her, most likely during the next presidential campaign.

(10,271 posts)Let the House throw their tantrums. If its for nothing, they can lose that too, in the midterms. Ive always believed that the most useful thing the next Democratic President could do with their first 2 years is get the House back anyway, because not much else is going to get done without it. A Blue Senate can pass all the bills they want. Without a blue House to actually PAY for them, those things are just suggestions.

(113,063 posts)I feel like some at DU are tired of hearing about it.
I get caught up in the needs of the race and I run to post about it. This is the pressure of being a GOTV activist in a purple state like NC. This election more than ever.
Perhaps DU needs a rest from me for a few days. heheheheh

(59,503 posts)1) The Senate does not "impeach" the President. The House does when they vote for impeachment. He is correct that the Senate needs 67 votes, but if they get them they are votes to remove her. I do not think the President can pardon themselves and if the President can, the Senate vote to remove them still means he/she is out.
Note that the Republicans do not have 67 Senators, nor are they likely to get them even into 2018.

Not that they won't do it. But we knew that already.

(24 posts)what does that say about your vision for the future? Change is generally inevitable. Right-wing refusal to embrace the passage of time and acknowledge different opinions is perplexing to me.
