Here's a chart showing amt. of money spent on healthcare in all different Countries.

I'm sorry for the link. I can't figure out how to make it just show here. It's obvious to me that the BIG difference between the US and Europe is that European Countries are willing to pay for their people to have health care and the US is getting scammed by the insurance co. middlemen! What we are trying to won't ever work. Healthcare should NEVER be a for profit business. How the hell we get out of this mess now, is beyond my imagination.

We are willing to pay more, in fact, we pay TWICE as much as most of those countries. We get a poorer return on the money spent with 3 or 4 years less life expectancy. The problem isn't with how much we spend on healthcare, it is how it is spent and where the money goes. We don't need new taxes for healthcare or any new collections.

If you want a more efficient healthcare system, look at the insurance companies, pharmaceuticals, and related laws. Those are the places that will be the most effective in reforming the system.
