108 years of history.

There are great-grandparents that were born and have died since the last time the Chicago Cubs won the World Series. It is a story of massive import. There is historic meaning in this event.

It gives me hope that this arc of history will continue this coming Tuesday. There has never been a woman President. This time, a woman leads our country thru a crisis even before she is elected our next President. Make no mistake, Donald Trump has put our nation into a crisis unlike any our generation has ever seen before.

But, if the Cubs can win the World Series, why can't a woman win the Presidency?

I feel better about Hillary's chances today, for some odd reason...

Who would thunk it 4 years ago? They lost 101 games and now they win 103 and the WS. I guess anything is possible.

When the score got tied, I started to worry about the election. Whatever odd reason is making you feel better about Hillary's chances is doing the same to me. (Of course, she did run better ads during the game, too.)

my Raider fan friends won't let me.. 1981, from wild card to Super Bowl Champs.

As a Bronco fan, I should be a raider hater, but some of my best friends are Raider fans and good Democrats too, so no hate in this Bronco heart. Go Raiders (unless they're playing the Broncos.)

The last time the Cubs won, women didn't even have the right to vote.

Add to that the fact that both Obama and Hillary have major Chicago bonds.
Yes I hate the fugging owner, but sometimes symbolism is bigger than owners.

Crazy 08 by Cate Murphy is a nice little social/sports history of the last time (before now) the Cubs won the Series.

Or there's a Chicago guy in the White House heading out, and the Cubs end the long curse the same year, and the White Sox won sort of just as Obama broke onto the big stage, and the Cubs winning is just the other bookend, and that's the end of the story. Or, if the Cubs can win the World Series, what other world ending event could possibly happen?
