FBI launches internal investigation into its own Twitter account
An FBI tweet may have crossed the line.

The FBI has launched an internal investigation into one of its own Twitter accounts.

The account at issue, @FBIRecordsVault, had been dormant for more than a year. Then on October 30 at 4 a.m., the account released a flood of documents, including one describing Donald Trump’s father Fred Trump as a “philanthropist.”

But it wasn’t until two days later, when the account tweeted documents regarding President Clinton’s controversial pardon of Marc Rich that the account began to attract significant attention.

The account has not been active since that tweet.

ThinkProgress has learned that the FBI’s Inspection Division will undertake an investigation of the account...

Opus Dei FBI agent caught spying for Russia in 2001 and who was the person who spearheaded the investigations and attacks against Bill Clinton claiming Clinton was helping China illegally when he allowed them to buy a super-computer. Uh….Bush had allowed China greater access to computers than Clinton ever did. But Robert Hanssen led that witch hunt. Turned out to be Opus Dei and a Russian spy who got several CIA assets in Russia MURDERED.

when you hear folks saying "fire Comey" or "why isn't Lynch or President Obama doing anything about this??!!???":

The administration knows that firing Comey at this point in time would be interpreted as a retaliatory move and/or a cover up which would do far far more damage to the Clinton campaign then letting this all blow over.

There were no leaks because he was a merciless asshole with an iron fist at work. And he knew where ALL the bodies were buried.

The FBI is starting to look like KGB West. I think Hanssen was the tip of the iceberg.

What needs to happen next is that someone needs to clean house. I think a team selected by deputies of the Director of National Intelligence need to get in there and do some massive scrubbing, down to polygraphs and firings and pulling of clearances and investigations and so forth. It needs to be top to bottom--there IS a problem up in there, and I think there has been for a long time.

I also think FBI needs to hire some more WOMEN and MINORITIES. There are too many white men in that outfit, and too many of them are rigid assholes. I also think they need to break up old gangs--do like Haile Selassie did in Ethiopia (well, up until his mysterious and unfortunate death/overthrow)...he never let a provincial governor stay in the same place for too long, so they couldn't accumulate power and use it against him.

These FBI fiefdoms are dangerous--even the bigwigs in NYC need to do senior tours in Bumfuck Alaska--it will build their character for when they do their twilight tour under the nose of the director in DC.
