Trump with even a 1 pt lead and
MSM has let this poll numbers push numbers
I thought teh polling had gone to hell in 2012

(8,015 posts)for every poll. This can obviously be good or bad. But if you end up with a group that sways one way from inception it throws it off.

(18 posts)You have to take the outliers out of the equation for a true number on both sides. If you notice LA times has been reporting basically the same number every single time going back months. On the other side we have to disregard ABC's 12 pt. poll. Both effect the RCP average. I think its 2-3 points nationally, but at this point states are all that matters.

(5,790 posts)They say that it is to focus on market research (which is their bread and butter). However, I think they wanted to step back, observe, and dissect this cycle to see what they've been doing wrong for the past three cycles and fix it for the future.

(14,760 posts)apparently they don't have a lot of minorities or hispanics in their pool, so they give added weight to the ones they have. That gave one guy an incredible percent of their trump number. He would basically swing the number 2% if he was in the pool that week.
It sounded unreal they do that.

(6,858 posts)It's like if the Chicago Tribune was to conduct a poll and have very few Blacks or Latinos (who combined, make up almost 60% of the Chicago population).
