Western Europe Intelligence agencies are gathering intelligence on Donald Trump as they see him as a threat to their countrie's security. This is MAJOR, MAJOR, MAJOR!!!!! Check on Newsweek tomorrow. HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGE bombshell AGAINST Trump. HUGE!
I know too many people have called "wolf" before, but I never saw Rachel Maddow excited like this before. She usually is last to get this excited.

Good for Newsweek but no one else will give a shit.

Can't wait to hear more tomorrow. Rachel never gets excited
like this. She is usually pretty calm, cool and collected. For
her to get excited like this means something TO ME.

(2,573 posts)Would America not be horrified if we saw a Donald Trump running for office in Europe? And this happening in America is just 10x worse since we are the world leader.

(16,887 posts)...is very real and I have never heard so many discussions about what is happening in a US election. People in Europe, mostly Germans, but also Eastern Europe, are very very worried. Trump is often brought up in comparisons to the rise of Hitler and Nazi Germany. And they are very serious and not being over dramatic or alarmist.

Rachel just walked on to Jimmy Fallon and did not bring up this article.

Not quite breaking news, or big news.

(18,634 posts)Sure another article coming out damaging to Trump but she said nothing about a major revelation.
And any damaging info to Trump won't affect the people that want to vote for him anyway.
About the only thing that would affect their votes is if he died before the election.
Probably many of them would still vote for him anyway.

(1,017 posts)Americans do not want to be told by Europe who to vote for for president. That'll just make them do the opposite. Rachel Maddow doesn't know what she's talking about. If Democrats listened to her theyd lose every election.

(45,806 posts)Putty will convince a lot of voters to decide against him on Tuesday. there are still a lot of voters who are old enough to remember the Russian Empire as our enemy, and even younger voters realize he's not a great guy.

(2,479 posts)in the (hopefully impossible) scenario where Drumpf somehow would manage to get closer to the White House than the lobby of his crappy hotel!
Seriously, I think we should ask all responsible nations to go on record that they would not trade with a Drumpf-led nightmare!

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/why-the-russians-are-backing-trump-maddow-previews-blockbuster-newsweek-story/
Just as has been done previously with huge stories broken by Newsweeks Kurt Eichenwald, MSNBCs Rachel Maddow got a hold of some excerpts of tomorrows article and shared them with her viewers.
In this instance, Eichenwalds report appears to show the real reason why Russia and Vladimir Putin are backing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. The story also has the subtitle that claims Putin wants to weaken NATO.
One of the parts of the story that will come out in tomorrows issue is that Russia was apparently freaked out when the GOP candidate attacked the Khan family, believing that these actions would end up with Trump being forced out as the nominee.
According to the article, Russian officials who were hacking to influence the election felt that if Trump were replaced by the Republicans, the next candidate wouldnt be as good for Russia. Thus, they stopped hacking documents for a while.
Maddow also noted that the article shows U.S. allies in Western Europe are are concerned that they will not be able to trust Trump.

(9,123 posts)I don't think it was the Kahn Gold Star family. They were caught red handed with the DNC dump. That was about one week before he attacked the parents. Isn't that more likely the reason?

(697 posts)The intelligence community knows this already and the Trump voters won't care. They'd rather trust the Russian devil than Clinton who they've led to believe is Satan in the flesh !!

(35,015 posts)Hard-core Donald voters will vote for him no matter what, it's those with clearer heads who will care (that includes Republicans and Independents).

They don't believe facts.
I don't mean to be a buzz kill, but I've lost my trust in the ability of millions of Americans to reason.

(64 posts)Maybe if it ran earlier this week and had time to make the rounds. I don't know how much impact that will have. Regardless polls still look good for Hillary anyway. She should be fine...crazy election but almost over.

(80,708 posts)The good news is, the underlying reality is going to remain the same, election-wise, and that field has consistently looked pretty fuckin' good for us, despite wild apparent swings in the polling noise.
Now, it's a story if our European allies are terrified of that narcissistic baby-man getting in the WH, and they should be, because they're sane.
But I don't think too many of whatever undecided voters are left, in the states that count, are going to be swayed by "The French don't like him", or whatnot.
Kathy M
(1,242 posts)sure sounds like all the fear buttons are being pushed .
As far as Europe leaders go ... it will go over as good as President Obama speaking in Britain about Brexit before their vote .
Mike Nelson
(9,958 posts)...did not think it rose to the "bombshell" delivery I saw given. Europe's revulsion has been reported on and is no surprise. Chris Hayes reporting, with Joy Reid guesting, on the FBI connections was a much bigger deal. I still like Rachel bringing up the Newsweek pieces, though.
