People, we really need to back off criticism of the poor media types.

They're working overtime to project tension and drama for our entertainment. Just listen to the tone of their voices. The rhythm of their respiration, the heights of their blood pressures, the bugging of their eyeballs. There's something for everyone. For example, the linguist community (Really, their IS a linguist community. Honest. B'leeve me.) is being regaled with word forms unheard for decades. Hyperbole is the lingua franca of these last few days. I'll coin a phrase: Hyperbolic Hyperbole.

And through it all, they speak to us as the idiots they think we are. As if we hang on their every word so we dopes can know what to think.

Please gods, let this be over.

Meanwhile, how about a collection so we can send oxygen tanks to the on air fluffballers who are speaking so fast they haven't got time to breathe until next Wednesday or even beyond.

Especially cable TV "news". After Faux "news" set the mark, the rest have been trying to play "catch up".

See also, "Network" (the movie, 1976).

I dropped corporate "news" in 2008 after everyone came on-board for the Iraq invasion.

There is no "news".... (and for that matter, there is no spoon.)
