There Really Will Be No Healing Or Coming Together After The Election The Way It Looks.

Based on the vicious hatred of Trumper and the attitude of the GOP I do not see the country coming together. They simply will NOT allow it. I cannot think of a Trump lover who is anywhere civil. And it looks like the country will be more fractious and divided than ever. The resurgence of the KKK and the open aggressiveness of the militias is pretty troubling.

And I think the media will stir up trouble just to get ratings because they thrive on conflict. They thrive on pointless investigations and sensation.

Hopefully I am wrong but my gut tells me otherwise.

If the maniacs got over two terms of President Obama, they'll fall in line with Hillary. They will gripe all the way to their stable jobs with better access to health care while driving their cars with cheap gas prices just like they are currently doing.

and they're already planning to stonewall everything hillary does, including supreme court nominees, as well as impeaching her!

i'm very excited about hillary winning on tuesday, but the next four years will be ugly. lots of confrontation, lots of stonewalling, lots of investigations into made-up crap, very likely an impeachment based on more made-up crap, etc.

What is Hillary's Congress going to look like? Will 2018 be an electoral bloodbath for our side like 1994 and 2010 were?

Also what if my dog is a werewolf and my toes explode?

GOP couldn't get a tent big enough for all those nutjobs. It's now their brand. Reap what you sow.

Sorry, GOP. Ya had a chance to stop it, now you own it.

Will it be a bigger deal than a few tea bag rallies this time? When did that start anyway? Wasn't there a honeymoon what with the economic collapse and all

In this election I think there are many Trump voters who do not really like Trump. They will vote for him because they hate Hillary. In 2008 as well though, it seems like there was more media support/respect for Obama. He was drawing crowds, he was an inspiring speaker - those were the story lines. "Yes we can" and "hope and change". How are we supposed to cheer for Hillary?

It's boiling over. I don't think these people are going to accept a Clinton victory peacefully or quietly. I just hope there isn't any violence toward individuals.

Acceptance of differences, tolerance, hate, bigotry and indifference have always existed. The only reason why as a country we are more polarized today than 10, 20, 30 years ago etc is the ever expanding way in which we communicate. Opinions both good and bad are expressed faster due to the internet and social media. We are not limited by region and we are not forced to rely on the main stream media to chose what information we read. We can share information and build communities in ways that simply wasn't possible in the size and scope as today. This has the positive result of websites like this and the negative result of oonline hate forums like stormfront. We are polarized as a country and the more we learn about each other the more we will remain polarized.

As second wave feminists and student activists of the 60s and 70s would say... the political is the personal.
