Yuengling Owner Backs Trump And Gay Bars Promptly Dump Their Taps

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/gay-bars-yuengling-backlash_us_581a1e83e4b08f9841acacb2

More than 15 Maryland and Pennsylvania gay bars and restaurants have opted to stop serving Yuengling beer after the company’s owner pledged his support for Donald Trump last week.

The move comes after Pennsylvania Rep. Brian Sims (D-Philadelphia) called on members of the LGBTQ community to join him in boycotting Yuengling products after brewery owner Dick Yuengling, Jr. told Trump’s son, Eric, that he and his employees were “behind” the Republican presidential nominee during an Oct. 25 brewery tour, the Reading Eagle reported.

Sims, who is openly gay, blasted Yuengling for using “my dollars to bolster a man, and an agenda, that wants to punish me for being a member of the LGBT community and punish the black and brown members of my community for not being white” in a Facebook post a day after Eric Trump’s visit.

It didn’t take long for gay-owned establishments to follow Sims’s lead. As The Advocate reports, Level One, Cobalt, D.C. Eagle, Number 9 and Ziegfeld’s are among those in Washington D.C. to stop serving Yuengling. In Philadelphia, that list includes the popular U Bar and Tavern On Camac.

This is YUUGE! Yuengling is -- or was, anyway -- the beer in PA.

The only time I'd drink Yuengling is when I'm at a place that have cheap drafts specials. I always thought it was better than Bud Light, Budweiser, of Miller Lite. I think the last time I did that was months ago when I was bowling, which I don't even do anymore. I just rather have one good bear then server weak beers.
