I will never shut up about the overall evil that is the current Republican Party because I believe evil must be met with equal force on the part of the good.

I will never shut up about laughing at the fuckwits who claim to be “political junkies,” but who swear that both major parties are basically the same.


I will never shut up about the ignoramuses who think elections are an afterthought and that marches are how you get shit done. Name one time when laws or hearts and minds were ever changed by a protest alone.

You speak for me and I'm sure thousands of others. I've been too upset to leave my house the last few days--finally today I went to a downtown book store then afterward stopped at a nearby coffee shop for a latte and began reading the first couple chapters of my book club's next selection. For the umpteenth time since the election, I was nauseous, and no, it wasn't the coffee or the book, it was a text sent by a friend regarding one of trump's latest appointed staff members, Steve Bannon. Evil Steve. Determined later not to watch the news, I did it anyway and found myself in such a state of anxiety I retreated to the internet where I found, thanks be to Skinner, Elad and EarlG, that DU is up and running.

Like you, my friend sheshe, I will never shut up until they haul this old bag o'bones off to some "retraining camp", which I'm pretty sure is on trump's to-do list. Even then I won't shut up. To quote Barbara Fritchie (thank you, John Greenleaf Whittier)--"Shoot if you must this old gray head!" She was 96, the same age as my mother when she left me, and it will be my privilege, should I live that long, to stand up against those who are even now determined to put an end to our Republic.

Enough of my diatribe. I say to all: Stay Strong. The future needs us!
