which is the best in the world with lots of winning but... being paid less than the men team without all these winnings.

And all I was thinking was: this country thinks - as many voters said - that the job of a President should be held by a man, so why should we be surprised that women athletes are paid less than men?

(3,251 posts)The reason for the wage gap is obvious once you analyze it.
Women are paid less than men because men as a group want it that way. They want women to be dependent on them, especially through marriage, so they get sexual access and free domestic labor. Having women with the possibility of being independent of them infuriates the crap out of men as a group, a political class. They prefer to starve women by underpaying them so that they will marry and men get that all-important sexual access. Even so, more than a few straight women still do live the independent life even if it means lifelong poverty.
The right and MRA crowd try--unsuccessfully--to say that the wage gap is a myth, while labor experts are at a loss as to why the gap continues to exist. The only reason the gap has narrowed at all is because men are making less money thanks to outsourcing and the gutting of unions.
It ain't rocket science at all why the wage gap exists. It has nothing to do with women's skill level, education, occupational "choice," or lifestyle. It is just people don't want to admit the reason because it is so disturbing and obvious.

(3,251 posts)It all goes back to my point that women make less because men as a group want it that way in order for women to remain dependent on them.

Odd but I had a conversation earlier today with a retired law professor and she thinks the EEOC is probably in jeopardy.
