Polling firm CEO: 20 million Trump voters will lose time and half overtime pay under GOP plan

Millions of Americans who voted for Donald Trump are expected to lose overtime pay rights soon after he is sworn in as president.

Tom Bonier, CEO of the polling firm Targetsmart, pointed out on Monday that “almost 20,000,000 Trump voters would lose time and a half overtime” under a Republican plan to reverse regulations put in place by President Barack Obama.

-snip-

According to Politico, House Republicans are already plotting the most efficient way to dismantle Obama-era regulations. An overtime rule requiring companies to pay time-and-a-half to workers who make less than $47,000 a year is expected to be one of the first reversals.

“We have heard over the past year that it would have truly dramatically bad effects, not just on employers but on employees across the country,” Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-AL) told Politico. “I can give you the names of a ton of private-sector businesses who will either have to eat that cost or pass that cost on to their customers.”

Exit polls taken during the Nov. 8 election showed that 41 percent of Trump’s 61 million votes were cast by people who make less than $50,000 a year.

Frankly, I wish we would drop the social aspects for now. It's clear that many Trump voters chose him either despite of or even because of his bigoted beliefs. Hammering away at the bigotry won't change their minds.

Trump voters were convinced that he would help their pocketbooks. Show them that's not true and their support disappears.

They aren't getting an ounce of sympathy from me.
The ones that voted for Hillary will get all of it.

watch for a all out assault , via Executive action to eliminate Federal Unions. TSA will be first and then the GSA Locals. Watch for a push to privatize the Postal People. Just watch the Fed-Ex stock for this one.

So if you're in the under $47K workforce, you've potentially see a $100/$200 a month pay-raise in January if you regularly work a couple hours OT a week.
And in February, you'll have it drop back down - and maybe get a $40 a month tax break next year as the Trump Fire-sale rebate finally kicks in for the lower income levels.

However, most Trumpettes are either retired and living off investments, or making $80K - $400K a year after taxes, so it wouldn't have affected them. They won't care, because the "scary, too-smart black man and the uppity femi-nazi" are history, and they can all go back and live in their own TV-induced reality until the country's infrastructure finally disintegrates around them.
