To a degree I understand the sentiment behind 'Pelosi must be replaced'

When we experience a huge loss, we want new leadership. Also, republicans go back to their districts and threaten their voters with "do you want nancy pelosi back in charge?". With a new leader that would evoke far fewer fears.

That being said, I do not want her replaced with someone is not committed to reproductive rights. It is the one right that is consistently under attack and will be under attack under Trump, and we cannot have someone like Tim Ryan, who up until last year was anti-choice, to be our new leader.

I will not have a feminist icon like Pelosi, who has a strong commitment to women's issues replaced by a back bencher who is not committed to my health.

It is unacceptable.

nancy knows all the legislative tricks and pressure points. that's what is called experience. in dealing with the white supremacist majority that knowledge will be important at least and life saving at best

and I do not like this asshat who is trying to unseat her.
She lost me when she just moved on from the bush presidency.
It would have been good for the country to uncover all of the corruption from the republicans. All she did was allow them to go back undercover and many in this country not realize what they did.
But. I wholeheartedly feel that unseating HER with a white male is NOT the direction that the party needs to take.
The message that I am seeing surface is that we need to cater to the white vote (at the expense of all others)....and that sickens me. Putting a white male in that role is the first step in that direction.
We simply do NOT need for this to be the message of this election.

He would never have passed the economic stimulus or Obamacare if he had plunged the country into the drama of prosecuting Bush. And it would have set a terrible, terrible precedent.

I think that was an electoral strategy, to keep the Republicans from being able to campaign on the message "if Democrats win, Bush will be impeached".

Thanks to Republican control of the Senate and Presidency about the only thing we got out of the 2006 Democratic House was a minimum wage increase, and the stimulus of Feb. 2008 (the forgotten one) which for some reason the Democrats supported, even though it was mostly tax cuts for the rich.
