Barely a Press to Speak Of

Why has HuffPost caved. Before the election, they used to end every article about Trump with this:

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.

Now they do not...why? He is still the very same person but they changed after the election.

The weakness of our press is appalling. They are all meeting with the fascist today to discuss things "off the record" I'm thinking they have barely been on the record at all.

I have a few journalism friends that work there and they understood what she was doing during the primaries and the campaign.

And I need to reinforce this as this is important:

They are Journalists. The friends that I spoke with about the statement made them feel like they were being forced to editorialize their articles from the Editor in Chief.

They -- at my time of responding to you -- haven't caved. My friends (one who is a fairly senior political reporter and I want to keep the name anonymous) have not caved.

HuffPo is actually reporting who showed up today:

There came a point where it took a turn rightward.

It sure seems that way. They used to call him out and now they do not.
It is the exception to the rule when any of these news agencies ask actual questions and ask actual follow-up questions. It's becoming very common for them to have trump surrogates monologue unchallenged for up to several minutes and then move on with no actual questions or follow-up challenging what are often poorly worded or thought out perspectives.

They, willingly or not, are devolving into little more than propaganda tools.

Not asking for a "liberal" media, just an honest one.

they are.

I shared a link calling him & other media sources out.

Don't let a footnote at the end of an article about *rump being left off become akin to them not calling trump out.
