Trump draws Blitzer, Rose, Holt, Stephanopoulos to off-the-record meeting

Donald Trump's meeting with news anchors and executives from the country's five biggest television networks on Monday at Trump Tower included some of the biggest names in the industry.

C-Span's "elevator cam," which is located in the lobby facing elevators that go up to Trump's office, showed Fox News senior executives Bill Shine, Jack Abernethy, Jay Wallace, Suzanne Scott and Brian Jones were present for the off-the-record meeting.

Network President Jeff Zucker and anchor Wolf Blitzer attended on behalf of CNN.

NBC News President Deborah Turness, anchor Lester Holt and "Meet the Press" host and moderator Chuck Todd represented the Comcast-owned network while MSNBC president Phil Griffin also attended.

From CBS, "Face the Nation" host John Dickerson and the "CBS This Morning" team of Charlie Rose, Norah O'Donnell and Gayle King made the trip across midtown Manhattan. CBS News President David Rhodes is reportedly traveling and could not attend, according to TVNewser.com.

The ABC contingent included "This Week" and "Good Morning America" host George Stephanopoulos, "World News Tonight" anchor David Muir, and Martha Raddatz, the network's chief global affairs correspondent.

Donald Trump scolded media big shots during an off-the-record Trump Tower sitdown on Monday, sources told The Post.

“It was like a f–ing firing squad,” one source said of the encounter.

“Trump started with [CNN chief] Jeff Zucker and said ‘I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed,’ ” the source said.

“The meeting was a total disaster. The TV execs and anchors went in there thinking they would be discussing the access they would get to the Trump administration, but instead they got a Trump-style dressing down,” the source added.

A second source confirmed the fireworks.

“The meeting took place in a big board room and there were about 30 or 40 people, including the big news anchors from all the networks,” the other source said.

“Trump kept saying, ‘We’re in a room of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong.’ He addressed everyone in the room calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars. He called out Jeff Zucker by name and said everyone at CNN was a liar, and CNN was [a] network of liars,” the source said.

We know he is a bully.
By making such an overstep at the meeting, he is not endearing himself to the press, so I would hope for...expect...maybe more press coverage.

It was when Nixon attempted to silence the newspaper that the real investigation started.
