Will my kids need to register? My ex-husband is Muslim. My kids were raised largely as agnostics but were taught about their mother's (me) and their father's families of origin .... Catholic and Muslim respectively.

Even though being Muslim is like being Catholic, or Episcopalian, or Hindu ... (simply a religious preference) ... my children feel no connection to Islam (or any religion), but they are "brown" and have ancestors from the Indian sub-continent ... will they need to register?

What about my first (and only) grandchild? (born November 4, 2016 and the heart of my heart) His mother has a Muslim father and (gasp) his father is the son of immigrants from Latin America ... surely there must be a separate category for him? If you think they would be eager to set a precedent for discrimination based on religion, I think that would be surprising.

Catholics were banned from office in some state constitutions. Jews face significant bigotry even today.
