Television executives and on-air personalities from several networks had an off-the-record meeting with President-elect Donald Trump on Monday at Trump Tower.

According to transition pool reports, the executives and news personalities spotted entering Trump Tower included NBC's Deborah Turness and Lester Holt; MSNBC’s Chuck Todd; CNN's Jeff Zucker and Wolf Blitzer; Fox News' Bill Shine, Jack Abernethy, Jay Wallace and Suzanne Scott; CBS' John Dickerson, Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell; and ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, David Muir and Martha Raddatz.

Stelter also reported seeing CNN’s Erin Burnett enter Trump Tower.

According to a transition pool report filed after the meeting, Conway called the media gathering “a pretty unprecedented meeting put together in two days” and said Trump would be meeting with the New York Times as well on Tuesday.

is how this meeting was described by sources. The pow-wow took place in a board room and the journalists, pundits and media execs thought they'd be talking about access to Herr Trump, a clearing of the air.

Instead, Trump lambasted the media figures with accusations of gross lies and malpractice. From the sounds of it, it was the same routine The Donald delivered on the campaign trail: how the media was composed of liars and rotten people, how they has gotten 'it' (I assume it means him and his temper tantrums) all wrong. From reports inside the room, he indirectly called out Katy Tur, a female reporter who is terrible at her job, Trump claimed, and got "it" all wrong, too. And Jeff Zucker, who runs the worst news organization (CNN), according to The Donald, and does nothing but tell lies. There's a certain karma justice in the Zucker call out because CNN followed Trump breathlessly. Zucker himself said: 'the man may be bad for the country but he's great for ratings."

Smack!

This is a runaway train. And we, American citizens, are tied to the tracks.
