Hamilton County (Ohio) prosecutor intends to retry officer in shooting case

Technically - LBN but I'm watching the presser and don't have a link yet.

First trial resulted in a hung jury.

Joe Deters has announced he WILL retry officer Ray Tensing in the shooting death of Sam DeBose. In addition, he will ask for a change in venue (virtually unheard of in this area).

Quote Deters "without the body cam video we would have nothing and with it, we know that officer Tensing purposefully lied about the events." Also, "It is my believe that Sam DeBose was murdered. I didn't know Sam and from what I've heard, it was mixed but that doesn't make it make his life less valuable. Just for getting pulled over, it doesn't mean he should be killed".

This guy's a republican prosecutor and there was a lot of thought in the community that he originally tried Tensing for election benefit. This decision would say "not so".

More to follow.
