Trump's senior adviser said on Tuesday that the president-elect thinks it's time to move on and help Clinton 'heal.'http://www.politico.com/story/2016/11/trump-clinton-investigation-kellyanne-conway-231735
President-elect Donald Trump is reneging on his promise to jail Hillary Clinton, a sharp departure from the lock her up! chants that Trump encouraged at his campaign rallies, immediately drawing the ire of some conservatives.
Breitbart News, the alt-right news organization formerly run by Steve Bannon, Trump's chief strategist, headlined the lead story on its home page BROKEN PROMISE.
And Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog agency that sued to get more of Clintons State Department emails released, urged Trump on Tuesday to commit his administration to investigating Clinton, while promising to continue its own litigation and investigations to help uncover possible scandals.
For Trump to refuse to do so would be a betrayal of his promise to the American people to drain the swamp of out-of-control corruption in Washington, DC, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton warned in a statement. President-elect Trump should focus on healing the broken justice system, affirm the rule of law and appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Clinton scandals.

I hope these monsters rip themselves apart and crush the little dreams of wickedness and hate of their fuckall scum voters/followers

(41,986 posts)Bannon used Breitbart as a way up. Trump used his followers as mere stepping stones to power. Everyone loves to think they're special, they won't be treated like all the others. Hillary said it over and over and over and over..."When someone shows you who they are..."

(8,964 posts)The "lock her up" crowd is still holding bags full of red meat collected from tweets, rallies, debates, and more. And as the fake news stories from the Trump campaign were summarily cooked up on a daily basis, the rotting flesh itself remains in the bag with no prospect of being served up in a celebratory "incarceration feast". Indeed, if there is a prison cell that needs to be reserved and warmed up, it would be richly deserved by the proclaimed winner of this contest.

(865 posts)This is bannon's way of putting pressure on trump -- putting pressure on orange one through a backlash from the breitbart followers. I hope it does not work for bannon. I hope it means honeymoon over.
I also hope it is sign of a wedge driven between different people trying to help trump.
If trump leans toward bannon and the breitbart freaks, then ryan and company will be more likely to "allow" an impeachment to happen. Then government would have pence, priebus, ryan running things even more fully, more overtly, but still ... trump impeachment needs to happen. Besides, many people for trump hate ryan and other establishment types. So if trump goes down, may help ryan/etc. only in short run.
If trump leans toward ryan/priebus/etc., well, he may be in office longer but breitbart faction and their overtly white supremacist nutcases do not win. That's good. But then ... who knows, maybe trump followers who hate establishment will then abandon trump.

I just hope they all go down.

(3,056 posts)First of all, followed the link and went to Breitbart. Ew-w-w-w. I feel like I need a shower. Secondly, the whining and excuse making is epic. These idiots really think Herr Drumpf has their best interests at heart and just needs time. They will tear themselves, and eventually him, to shreds. They expected blood, and are now being told to be patient, and by not locking Hillary up, it's helping "heal". I'm getting a warm, fuzzy feeling here folks. I honestly don't know if any of them are smart enough to realize how badly they've been played, but I'm expecting to see pitchforks soon. As a rule, white supremacists don't have a long fuse. This might just get real good.

Heal from a massive 2,000,000+ popular vote over the other candidate? Heal from what? Seriously, trump needs to put down that silver spoon...sniff, sniff, sniff.

(3,635 posts)they just got finished voting for a man in Trump is basically is the leader of a global criminal syndicate, a racketeer, a tax cheat, been sued 4000 times, stiffs workers/contractors, and is basically as corrupt as can be, and probably would've been in jail a llong time ago if not for his pal Rudy and other corrupt politicians and officials in letting him do whatever he wanted throughout his sleazy life.
before that they voted for a Bush/Cheney admin that lied about WMD, led us into a war that is costing 10trillion dollars, led to ISIS, many lives lost/destruction, trashed the economy.
the real reason they hate the Clintons is because the Clintons beat the right-wing at its own game, and managed to derail the 'conservative revolution' in the 90's when it was at its height. the Clintons weren't the typical overly-ethical wimpy Dems of the time like Mondale/Dukakis who played the game too nice and would get stomped on.

(37,428 posts)...without realizing that he breaks every promise are the classic low-information voters. He says whatever he thinks he'd like to be heard saying at a given moment, and then he says other things. It's always been the job of underlings/handlers to try to guess what will please him.
The word "promise" doesn't have much meaning in his world. He's full of wild stories about things he's always about to do, but never does. The trouble is, we've elevated him to a position from which he can appoint people who do have some sort of work ethic, and who will use his license to accomplish what they were going to do anyway.
