...I mean, the things we've feared all our lives that a GOP unleashed would do...they're all coming true, one disaster after another after another. The end of any semblance of liberal democracy. *And that's not the worst of it*. The worst of it is that an unstable, insane 70-year old manchild has his finger on the goddam button. Something that in itself would be a national nightmare--the end of abortion rights? National right-to-work laws? The end of Medicare? The end of climate change legislation?--these almost seem secondary. Where do we even begin to find hope and fight back? Oh, in time we will, I will. But the boulder has been pushed all the way to the bottom, and we Sisyphuses are feeling old and tired...or at least, I am...

(15,222 posts)I'm so angry at the idiots that didn't see Trump for what he showed himself to be. He didn't try to hide his true nature. He put it out there for all of the dumbasses to see in all of his glory. And they FELL for it. They can't even think for themselves. They are sheep.
That, to me, is the most frightening thing out of all of this.
I'm sorry, but Democratic voters are more enlightened. They are smarter. They can THINK, and more than anything else, they can FEEL and have empathy for other people. With Republicans - every damn last one of them, from office holders to voters - it is all about ME.
