I've seen lots of them in my time, and that's what Trump acts like: a coke fiend.

(2,337 posts)In my experience, folks that make it a point to abstain from alcohol and tobacco don't make an exception for the hard stuff.

(10,291 posts)In fact, most of the ones I know are that way.
That's pretty much the opposite of my experiences. I have to disagree.

(60,010 posts)it was reported in New Yorker that he drinks about a gallon of diet COKE a day.
Apparently he does not see that has drinking caffeine, but he does pass on coffee and tea.
a gallon of sugar water would indeed keep most people up and moving.

(41,989 posts)Food, drugs, sex, pleasures. He tends toward the baroque, the tasteless. Even though he could come across as dignified, he seems to take pleasure in presenting himself as undignified. Crass. Rude. Sloppy. Mocking. He has a creeper sensuality about him that I find remarkably repulsive--much like the coke dealers I used to know many years ago.
He doesn't strick me as an actual addict, but a very wealthy manipulative personality.

(29,322 posts)Heroin is a big problem around here and it wasn't that way until recently. Prescription iPod's had a lot to do with that.
I think if Trump was more than a casual user he'd have to crash a lot which isn't likely with all the appearances he has to keep up.
And I doubt he'd be alive at 70.

(959 posts)that's why he needs a kid, preferably the daughter, in the room with him whenever he meets with people. He can't grasp the conversation, has nothing to add, and has to have things filtered through the kids, because he trusts no one else. There is no reason for the daughter to be in meetings with the Japanese ambassador. Or myriad other meetings. They are there to protect the old man from exposing his stupidity. And a pocket of blow doesn't hurt

(2,573 posts)This is all coming about because of the sniffing thing. He does the sniffing thing,,,,it's what he does. Like some folks play with their hair, bite their nails, lick their lip etc....that's what he does...he sniffs his stress.
If he was abusing drugs which I don't think he is...he's always been a "goody goody" in that aspect...it would be pills.

(70,711 posts)From *ANYTHING*. I noticed his respiratory SNORTING before the media called it "sniffing." COHN seized on the young DRUMPFster and they stuck together like barnicles, COHN who received guests in stages of undress and (guessing here) with trays of whatever inhibition-suppressants.
If we're supposed to know about politicians' taxes and health, why can't we ask about his odd night hours, apparent lack of sleeping, and erratic babbling?!1

I remember a drug that was about in the 70s and 80s. Never used it, but it was marketed as a diet pill. Called Tenuate Dospan.
http://winningdemocrats.com/donald-trump-has-spent-decades-tweaked-out-on-amphetamines/
Spy magazine, way back in 1992, published a feature exposing Dr. Joseph Greenberg, alleging he was simply an amphetamine pill mill for wealthy clientele. Trump was a loyal patient of the good doctor, which may explain his paranoid narcissistic worldview.
Have you ever wondered why Donald Trump has acted so erratically at times, full of manic energy, paranoid, garrulous? Well, he was a patient of Dr. Greenbergs from 1982 to 1985
Dr. Greenberg diagnosed both of the Trump brothers as suffering from a metabolic imbalance.
Greenberg treated the future xenophobic candidate, who had an obsessive fear of gaining weight, for what he diagnosed as a metabolic imbalance. (For the record, there is no such legitimate medical disorder.) To cure this nonexistent disease, Greenberg prescribed the miracle drug Tenuate Dospan.
According to the NIH, this nifty little diet pill causes such fun side effects as fear or nervousness, false or unusual sense of well-being, severe mental changes, and seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
and this is all only based on short-term use.
I also found this thread on the Blue Light (drugs) forum:
http://www.bluelight.org/vb/threads/658949-Anyone-remember-Tenuate-Dospan
A recent thread about UK speed reminded me of 'Chalkies', AKA 'Tombstones', brand name 'Tenuate Dospan', chemical name 'Diethylproprion'. my experience of these was around 1981. An aquaintenance's mother was prescribed these for weight loss, but she sold them to her son for his nights down Wigan Casino (classy, huh!). They were white and oblong with a score across the middle with (I think) 'SKF' debossed on the reverse side. I don't know how strong they were, but one morning, myself and a friend, (both aged about 17), took six each. We had previously been told that in addition to its amphetamine-like appetite suppressant activity, another reason for its anorexic effects was that each tablet swelled up to the size of a cigarette packet, therefore also making you physically 'full'. God knows how true this was, but I remember after about half an hour, I felt this amazing 'full' feeling wash over me, which was the start of the most amazing 6 hour experience I had ever had in my life at that point. The euphoria and empathy I felt was like nothing I'd had before and would never experience again until MDMA came on the scene. i'd had speed before, and bloody good speed at that - but this took it to a completely new level for me, and turned me into a speed freak for the next 20 years.
So does anyone remember these little buggers? Are they still available (Rx or black market)? Does anyone else agree that the effect was much more serotonin based than most 'classic' stims? Cheers!!

(14,971 posts)Journalists on Twitter were saying that it wasn't cocaine but that Trump crushes and snorts Adderall.
canetoad
(17,169 posts)Yes, it seems likely. I'm not even sure about him snorting anything. I reckon the sniffing is a tic or unconscious thing. Knowing his dislike of other drugs, he may have fooled himself into thinking his pills really are for a metabolic imbalance. Just happens to make him feel good.

(10,565 posts)I'm pretty sure he is one. That whole sniffing thing, tweeting at 3 AM, the drastic mood shifts, the manic energy, the freaky weird rally personality tell me there is something going on.

back in the day who provided Trump and other celebrities with "vitamin shots" and pills(speed). I think it was late 80's, early 90's. I was on Twitter during the debate when Trump couldn't stop sniffing and Howard Dean tweeted that he was a cokehead. 4 different journalists that I follow immediately tweeted Howard and said "It's not coke, it's Adderall". I googled Adderall and found out that if you crush it and snort it , Adderall has very similar effects to cocaine. This might explain that weird doctor that always follows Trump around.

(14,971 posts)Taking a prescription drug probably isn't the same thing to him as being "on drugs" . He took diet pills for years and may still be taking them.
