"SNIP...............
And then there is the added cost to the healthcare system if ObamaCare dies.
The RAND Corp. estimates the death of ObamaCare will add $6 billion to the deficit in the first year it is gone. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget puts the price of losing ObamaCare at $550 billion in the next decade.
And the demand for ObamaCare remains lively despite the constant attacks from the GOP.
This month, more than 1 million people signed up for the healthcare program, exceeding the number that signed up last year during the same timespan. After Trumps victory, people signed up at an even faster rate.

(11,605 posts)He made it difficult for Republicans to actually follow through on their pledge and throw millions of people off their insurance. He made healthcare a right, not a privilege.

infrastructure despite historically low borrowing costs then get the working class to blame the Democrats for not doing anything.

(83,791 posts)I lost my job in May. I got canned for not making my commission sales figures. I worked for that company for over 8 years. They don't like old people and as a hard of hearing person, they would find a younger whole person, cheaper yet not better than I was. I was good at what I did.
Cobra would have been 650 a month. I was uninsured for months. Joined our health connector 43 a month for Tufts health, got to keep my doctor. 16 for dental. I don't see that as being an expensive right.
FYI. I am being forced out of work. No jobs. I am now to old and trust me they are illegally asking my age. So I am now deemed worthless after working since the age of 14. I now have to take early retirement.

(42,641 posts)Age discrimination is a problem for many older workers. My daughter, who is 28, is paying $295 a month through the exchange. That will increase in 2017 to $350 a month. And hers is not the only such story.
The problem with the ACA, in my view, is it still gives billions to insurance companies that have as their only goal making money. For that I blame the Democrats and the GOP for not providing a public option that would have competed with the for-profit insurers.

(997 posts)If it wasn't for Marco Rubio's rider which mucked with the high risk pool funding, we likely wouldn't have seen premiums go up as much.
