a bunch of 19 something year olds spouted off about surrounding a stupid football game. What I care about is that people were deprived of a basic human need. I live near Toledo OH. We had our own water crisis in August 2014. I personally took over 300 gallons of water to Flint during their water needs. I paid for about the half water myself, made appeals for the rest, all the gas used in transporting, and was able to get donations for over 50 Sawyer water filters. All the water had to be in commercially packaged containers, no home done old milk containers allowed. Tell me what you did?

I do care about what those kids did, but I also know you and I will never agree on it and it's not worth getting into a posting brawl.

And you know what, I donated money, since I was dealing with 3 deaths in my family and trying to settle 2 estates, get two houses ready to sell, and working a full time job. That didn't leave me much time, energy or strength to work the water stations. So it is people like you, who went above and beyond to help, that merit my respect and heartfelt thanks.

at least as far as I saw, check it all out. This thread has turned into some kind of geographic bashing, which under the principles of DU is not allowed. I'm sorry the rest of Ohio didn't vote the correct way, I guess I should have knocked on another hundred doors. The "miscreants" were the students who posed under this banner. So because a bunch of students in Ohio said and did something stupid, that means the entire state is suspect?

Let's just say that I have been to many cities in OH, hell, I almost moved to Cleveland. Certainly considered moving to Cincinnati. But Columbus, and Ohio State in particular, just unnecessarily nasty to a Michigander with no ties (at the time) to "the school up north".

The kids in Flint will suffer for the rest of their lives, from effects of lead poisoning. People have contracted and several have died of Legionnaires' Disease, because of the water situation. It has affected my friends and family. There is nothing funny about it.

People here just don't see anything even remotely amusing about being made the butt of jokes, when people are still dealing with lead tainted water.

The ONLY way it will help is if it raises people's ire, along with their attention.

Because who wants to lie? Honestly speaking, I'm going to truthfully say that most of the world could do without that kind of "reminding". Strictly speaking in a lie detector friendly manor, a vast majority of the universe would be a much better place if it didn't have such hateful, ignorant pieces of shit in it.

Feel free to bash Michigan. In so many ways we probably deserve it, and I won't object. I don't follow sports, but you can gloat about today's game, too.

Other than Cedar Point, I have had actually only driving straight through Ohio, on my way to see family. I'd love to stop in Cincinnati - it looks beautiful. I'd love to go to the Columbus Zoo - I hear it is fantastic. I also hear Toledo has a nice zoo. Yea, I love zoos. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Hell yes, I'd love to see it. I just haven't done those things.

I hope we can smooth over this rough start.

and where did I bash the state of Michigan or UM? My point was that college-agers are basically the same anywhere. They say and do stupid crap. I think you or I would be hard pressed to find a place where that demographic isn't culpable of stupidity.

When and where did you serve in the USN? My father was a Lt.jg on a LST in the South Pacific, got there in time for operations in Leyte, Mindanao and Balikpapan.

Have a good evening and sorry if I was bit snarky.

I think if they did a massive water testing, in this country, there would be a whole lot of really angry people.

Might be a good idea if every blood test also included checking lead levels.
