(10,602 posts)Obama's biggest mistake was his Education pick. Plus he did not repudiate and abolish all of Bush's policies. He did to openly support teachers unions and unions in general. Sure he did a few things that were pro labor but they looked token. Plus he supported charter schools when he should have said they need to be made illegal.
He did not enthusiastically support his base. And the base felt thrown to the wolves.

(14,971 posts)Trump, they're voting for a Republican administration and all that implies. I'd be surprised if many NC teachers voted for Trump because they're already suffering under McCrory and are well aware of what repuke governance means to teachers pay and unions.
