This used to be a common response when individuals from the opposition party were offered an appointment with a new administration. The last example is Jon Huntsman who was Obama's ambassador to China.

So I wondered whether this is what Romney has in mind. On the other hand, with such an irresponsible foreign policy - at least they was it was presented during the campaign - how can he even consider this? Backing on supporting NATO, "encouraging" other countries to acquire nuclear weapons and other ideas?

1. Republicans value strategy

above all else. They're happy they have a President who will rubber stamp everything they want. Romney certainly knows how ignorant Trump is and he'll make sure he's the last person who talks to Trump before he makes critical decisions.

Also Mittens wanted to be polite - he wouldn't refuse an audience with Trump.

2. I've never seen any evidence that Mitt

Romney has a shred of self-respect or dignity, so it isn't all that hard to imagine him groveling before Donald Trump to get the SOS gig.

There's a constellation of lousy judgment in play. All those Trump voters, Trump himself, the idiots in the Cabinet and staff, and now King of Bain Mitt Romney.
