They still don't get it. Yesterday's performance at Carrier, where Trump "saved" about 1,000 jobs, was pure show biz and totally meaningless. But they lapped it up. It was unadulterated bullshit, but they didn't see it.
It was a distraction. A shiny object. A "Hey, look over there."
Anyone who wants to grasp who and what Trump is need only look at his various appointments. White supremacists, war hawks, Wall Street thieves, you name it. Those who have tried to fuck us for years, or have actually been fucking us for years, have found a new home.
And the most deserving victims of the about-to-be Trump regime are about to get fucked beyond their wildest dreams. They are about to see their social safety net shredded. They are about to see the America they thought they lived in, destroyed.
Their stated reason for voting for Trump was jobs. But it's fairly obvious that there was a tremendous dose of racism, bigotry, and fear of "the Other" that drove their votes.
It's virtually impossible to draw anything positive from this current election. But if nothing else, there's a bit of justice in the fact that so many millions of those who voted for Trump are about to get badly fucked. We know what's about to befall those of us who voted against him. These poor fools are still clueless..

(8,919 posts)the Wall Street Journal reported that includes 300 research and headquarters positions that werent slated to go to Mexico. That means the number of jobs being saved is 800 out of a total of 2,100 jobs that were to be transferred. In other words, 1,300 workers will still get the boot from two Carrier facilities in Indiana.
